Multiple Choice is a simple, closed-ended question type that allows the respondents to select one or multiple answers from a defined list of choices.
Follow these steps to add this question type:
- Click on Rating Scale drop-down from the Questions window on the left side of the survey builder.
- Now select MCQ Button Rating Question. After you select it the question will immediately be added in the survey and appear in the WYSIWYG tablet preview on your screen.
After you have added the MCQ Button Rating Question in your survey form, hover over the question and click edit icon to edit the question. A customization window wil get opened on the right hand side of the survey builder wherein you can move forward with the further question customizations.
The following customizations can be made:
|Heading Text||Enter the Heading Text for your MCQ question from here.|
|Variable ID||Variable id is a unique id assigned to text question or drop down fields. This is used to pass data which will be prefilled, via web urls in web surveys.|
|Mandatory||Choose the Screen from the drop-down where you want to move this question.|
|Scoring||Select if you would like to make the question a scoring question or not.|
|Question Layout||Select whether you want a single or double layout display for the question. In single layout the question will be spread along the full width of the survey screen and in double layout it will appear only in half the breadth of the survey screen. Use double layout if you want to add two questions alongside in the survey screen.|
|Answer||Enter the text for the answer options from here.|
|Weights||The rating settings that you have defined for your survey will appear here i.e the weightage that you have given to every answer choice. You can also add/remove the answer options using + and – icons.|
Add this question in your survey to ask your respondent to choose one answer (of multiple answers) from your list of answer choices. Multiple Choice questions are easy to analyze since they are closed-ended. Also every chart type in the reports is available for this question.
Tip: If your question has a long list of answer choices, consider using the Dropdown question type instead.
